The Museum proudly welcomes the general public to a book talk and signing event with author Sharon McConnell-Sidorick on Saturday, May 20th, 2017 at 2PM. Sharon McConnell-Sidorick will discuss her new book, Silk Stockings and Socialism: Philadelphia's Radical Hosiery Workers from the Jazz Age to the New Deal (University of North Carolina Press, 2017). Light refreshments will be served.
Sharon McConnell-Sidorick grew up in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. She later attended the University of Pennsylvania on a scholarship for returning women and earned her Ph.D. in History from Temple University. She has been a life-long activist in movements for social change.
