The Dey Museum will open its doors free of charge on Saturday September 23, 2017, as part of Smithsonian Magazine's thirteenth annual Museum Day Live, an initiative in which participating museums across the United States emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution's Washington DC-based facilities, which offer free admission every day, and open their doors for free to those who download a Museum Day Live ticket.
The Museum Day Live ticket is available for download at Smithsonian.com/museumday. Visitors who present the Museum Day Live ticket will gain free entrance for two at participating venues on September 23, 2017. One ticket per email address is permitted. This fun & energetic tour of Ringwood Manor focuses on the children of the Hewitt family, the activities, games, & pranks they played at the Manor, and what a child’s life would be like during the late 19th century. Scavenger hunts are provided on the tour and afterwards, kids are encouraged to try our reproduction 19th century toys! A great tour to introduce younger visitors to the history of the site! Every Saturday & Sunday from June 3rd to October 29th at 1pm.

Advanced registration required. Join Ringwood Manor historian, Sue Shutte, each month as she hand-picks an exclusive tour with a special focus! Discover the newly opened carriage barn exhibit by learning about Miss Sarah Hewitt's love of horses, features of the building, and details about the newly acquired objects on display. This is a partial walking tour. Participants should be prepared to walk or stand for an hour, sometimes over uneven ground. Comfortable and supportive shoes are recommended.
